Syndication on PAX TV - Fall 1998
After CBS cancelled Dr. Quinn in May 1998, a new network called PAX went on the air on August 31, 1998, and began showing Dr. Quinn on Monday, September 14, 1998. On November 6, 1998, they aired an original special called "A Salute to Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman" that included an overview of the storyline, a few bloopers from the show, some behind the scenes footage, and brand new cast interviews that were filmed at Paramount Ranch. CBS filed a lawsuit against PAX to stop the airing of the special, claiming that some of the footage had been obtained illegally and that the contract with PAX limited them to using only short clips to promote the show (The Palm Beach Post, Aug. 11, 1998), but eventually the lawsuit was dropped (The Marvin Kitman Show, Aug. 31, 1998) and the 90-minute special was aired. (PAX TV later rebranded and currently operates under the name Ion Television.) Below are some ads from PAX, along with screenshots of the cast who participated in the special.
