Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman
Byron Sully
DR. QUINN, MEDICINE WOMAN premiered on January 1, 1993, on CBS, quickly becoming very popular with the viewers. The show enjoyed six wonderful seasons, ending its very successful run on May 16, 1998, when it was cancelled suddenly without the benefit of a finale. Outcry from the viewers and an organized campaign to have the show reinstated prompted the creation of two additional television movies which aired May 22, 1999, and May 12, 2001.
The show still airs in syndication today (currently on INSP and UPtv in the U.S., as well as countries such as Belgium, China, France, Holland, Italy, Spain, and throughout Latin America on TCM:LA), allowing a whole new generation of fans to fall in love with the characters and the stories. The entire series is also available on DVD in multiple regions. Joe Lando played the role of mountain man Byron Sully, the local hero and love-interest of the title character, Dr. Quinn (Jane Seymour). From romantic beau to devoted husband, tender father, and loyal, caring friend, Joe’s portrayal of Sully is a fan favorite and still beloved around the world. Filmography links courtesy of IMDb.
