October/November 1997 - Mega Star
Joe Lando
He won the Wild West and fans all over the world.
Brave, caring and… incredibly handsome. By his side you can easily spend your whole life away from civilization: in the vicinity of bears, wild horses, and endless prairies...
He was born in Chicago - a big and smoky city, full of skyscrapers. So it's hard to say that he is made for the role of a long-haired trapper living in harmony with nature in a linen shirt and with Native American pendants around his neck. He felt his love for clean air and wild prairies only in the capital of American film, Hollywood. There he got the main role in the TV series "Dr. Quinn." He played Byron Sully, a guy who leaves his comfortable life behind and falls in love with and supports the beautiful Dr. Michaela Quinn as she battles infectious diseases and human ignorance in the Wild West. He helps her bravely to this day and does not intend to stop. This role brought him money and fame. What more could you want?
Today, Joe's mailbox is piled up with director proposals every day. This was not always the case, however. His talent and love interest were discovered quite late. He was well into his thirties when he was spotted and got his first serious offer. It is the series "Dr. Quinn" that Joe owes fame, success and new film proposals. "Seeds of Doubt" is the title of the first feature film in which Joe had the opportunity to appear. In it, he played an up-and-coming artist who is accused of committing murder. But that's just a little vacation from Dr. Quinn. In California, the shooting for the next part of the series has just been finished - in total it has over 150 episodes! Great joy for Joe's fans!
As important as acting are women in Joe Lando's life. With his sister Kathy, who is 10 years older, he maintains a warm relationship to this day. Nothing unusual. It is to her that Joe owes his birth: little Kathy, demanding a sibling, drilled a hole in her parents' belly until she finally got a brother! Joe is also friends with Jessica Tuck, the partner of the first series in which he starred: "One Life To Live." However, Lando found the love of his life... in a restaurant in Los Angeles. A cook by education, he worked in the kitchen, at the bar, and as a... bouncer, and his sweetheart, Kirsten Barlow, 26, ran the whole business. Their romance had been going on for a year when they finally decided to move in together in Joe's three-bedroom apartment on Mulholland Drive. The third resident of the cozy nest is Billy, a black border collie.
Kirsten and Joe are very serious about the future. Joe, once a hero of many fights and a lover of crazy riding a motorcycle, with age calmed down and discovered the charm of living in the bosom of nature. l with one woman by my side. But not a word more about it! Don't jinx it! Joe and Kirsten's relationship suffered during the filming of the first episodes of "Dr. Quinn." Rumors circulated at the time that Lando was having an affair with the beautiful Jane Seymour, not only on screen but also in private.
Contrary to the rumors, and fortunately for Joe and Kirsten, Jane fell head over heels in love and married a certain director. The actor got out of the trap of feelings and politely returned to Kirsten. It's said that the two of them are in such an idyll that Kirsten has agreed without a trace of jealousy that Lando...marries Dr. Quinn and even had a child with her! Of course, only on a movie set...
